The VEC is launching our successful internship for another year!
We are looking for hard working and enthusiastic students who are keen to apply their learning to a real-life working environment, bridging the gap between theory and practice and strengthening your early career.
The VEC internship will enable you to:
- Gain valuable hands-on experience in VEC on real world business problems
- Join our team of multi-disciplinary experts, working on a wide range of projects
- Own your own individual project which you will be responsible for
- Delivering technical project for real businesses across the Liverpool City Region
- Explore opportunities and unlock new understanding
- Get paid for your time – no coffee making either!
- Network with other like-minded interns, colleagues and professionals
- Develop projects with the support of world-class facilities, laboratories and technologies
- Develop workplace skills and gain confidence in a high performing but supportive team
The perfect candidate will be interested in careers within the following:
- Software Engineering including Web Application skills (e.g. Cloud, AWS, Web3)
- Data Science including skills in AI (e.g. Machine Learning, LLMs, Deep Learning, Generative AI, 3D reconstruction)
- Digital business management including industry/market analysis skills in specific areas (e.g. AI regulations, AI risks, AI governance reporting, digital compliance, insights, analytics and strategies)
- Cyber Security including Quality & Compliance skills (e.g. EDR, QA, Impact & Risk Assessment, QMS, ISOs, Dev Ops, KPI definition and analysis).
- Content Creation & Production: Content capture including filming, editing and producing video content and graphic design to support in effective story telling. We would be interested in any portfolio if possible.
- Communication Researcher & Feature Writer: someone with a flair for engaging writing and an interest in business, technology and economics. Ideal candidate would have a passion for writing about real business leaders and companies looking to make positive change in their communities.
Terms
The summer internship will start when your studies for the academic year have finished as to not clash or disrupt your leaning
The internship close period can be discussed with the VEC management team but typically will end when your studies begin for the next academic year
You will be paid for this opportunity
The internship is based at the Digital Innovation Facility (L69 3RF) in the heart of the University campus. Those interns who have access to a car and other transportation could also work from our site at Sci-Tech Daresbury (WA4 4AD)
